[ Not that she would ever say it, but Beau appreciates the steadying hand in that split second when her feet touch down to earth. She's a monk and she's got all the dexterity in the world, but it's still a weird sensation to go from air to ground.

She nods towards the office. ]

Lead the way. I've never done this before. Do I need to, like, walk behind you or something? You do all the talking, great dominant?

Nah. Just don't talk to any dominants unless they ask you questions or talk to you first. Some of the natives here get really aggressive about that shit. I don't mind a fight, but I just want to get this contract made before we worry about kicking someone's ass.

[ He chuckles. They can fight someone later. ]

But yes, I will ask for the contract. We'll get a contract specialist who will take us into a contract room. In the meeting, you can talk freely. One of the few places where Dominants and submissives are seen as equals here. The specialist will ask what we want in it, and they will draw it up, then show us, and if we like it, we sign. If not, we ask for changes, and go on until we are happy.

[ He nods to her. ]

[ It sounds very... ordered and sensible, but nothing about Duplicity is really what it seems. So Beau is still expecting some kind of trap in this, some kind of catch. Not from Jo, of course, but from someone working for Duplicity. This specialist sounds suspect.

Still, Beau said she would do this and she's going to do this. So she takes a deep breath to steel herself before facing some pencil pushers and nods. ]

[ Jo nods and leads the way in. Thankfully, for once, the situation is less trapped and more clear, than normal. Jo consults with Beau, and with the contract person making sure Beau gets a contract that lets her be free of any normal obligations, as well as giving her as much freedom and individuality as he can.

And when the contract is theirs, he takes a breath and signs it, then hands the pen to her, nodding. ]

[ Beau's uncomfortable. It has nothing to do with Jo, who is doing his best, or even with the specialist who is doing her best too. But the whole situation is so... official. Ignoring the fact that at some level, no matter what it says, she's signing over her freedom, it's the kind of place that Beau would avoid if at all possible.

Beau's lips thin as she looks at the paper in front of her, but she nods and takes the pen from Jo and signs her name.

The contract person says "congratulations" like this is a happy thing, and Beau supposes on some level it is. But, as she stands up, she looks to Jo. ]

Drink?

[ He walks out with her as fast as they can go and feels his shoulders lift a little as they hit the sunlight outside. ]

I hate that place, and this whole.... thing. [ His hands wave at... everything as he glances around, then points one way. ]

There is a bar that way where the drinks are good and the people mind their own business. [ Then he points the other way. ]

Or we can go back to the place and you can settle into my place, if you want. The second room there is yours now, for the taking.

Shit. [ She says it with a tone of realization, things finally sinking in only in the few moments they've been outside with fresh air and sunlight and no contract assistants around them.

She's made a deal to be Jo's Submissive. They're going to live together.
